Warrior boys tip Shires

    HOULTON — Thomas Levesque broke a 2-2 tie off a Brandon Hartt assist with 18:56 remaining to lead Fort Kent past Houlton 3-2 in schoolboy soccer action Friday.

Jared Soucy tied it with 34:45 left in the second half for the 2-0-1 Warriors. Levesque scored Fort Kent’s first goal with 23:27 left in the first.

Gary Fowler and George Bessa scored unassisted goals in the first half to put 1-1 Houlton on top 2-1.

Alex Charette of Fort Kent turned away 10 of 23 shots, while Houlton’s Cody Briggs saved nine of 15 shots.

    Wisdom 4, Central Aroostook 3

At Mars Hill, Curtis Picard scored the winning goal with just 3:38 left in the game to lead Wisdom of St. Agatha past Central Aroostook.

Picard and Rocky Chamberland both scored two goals for the 4-2 Pioneers. Matt Taylor and Brandon Lavoie provided assists. Justin Albert saved four of 19 shots.

Dan Brewer had a hat trick for the 3-3 Panthers, and Spencer Stetson had an assist. Ross Grass turned away four of 22 shots.

Girls soccer

Central Aroostook 3, Wisdom 0

At Mars Hill, Rachel Grew scored a goal in each half to lead Central Aroostook to victory over Wisdom of St. Agatha.

Sarah Grass scored in the first half for the 2-4 Panthers. Brea York provided two assists. Paige Garrison saved all three shots in recording the shutout.

Hayley Cyr made 13 saves off 21 shots for 0-6 Wisdom.
