Hampden edges Orono-Veazie

    ORONO — Billy Campbell pitched 5 2/3 innings, giving up one run on seven hits with seven strikeouts, as Hampden topped Orono-Veazie 3-1 in a District 3 Little League all-star baseball game for ages 11-12 Wednesday.

Campbell also doubled and singled for Hampden. Jordan Dysart chipped in with an RBI single.

Keenan Collett singled twice to pace Orono-Veazie. Josh Palmeter hit a double while Connor McCluskey had a sacrifice fly.

At Bangor, Nick Moore hit a two-run homer and doubled to knock in four runs as Bangor East beat Lincoln.

Ben Crichton singled three times with two RBIs while Ryan Moore doubled for the winners.

Aaron Rideout singled in Lincoln’s run.

    Hermon 12, Millinocket 2

At Millinocket, Eric Hoogterp hit a grand slam, a single and a sacrifice fly to spark Hermon by Millinocket in four innings.

Bryce Hieftje hit two singles and a double for Hermon while Nick Guerrette added a triple.

Travis Hartley and Zach Bouchard each hit an RBI single for Millinocket.

At Houlton, Ryan Dee tossed three innings of one-hit baseball and drove in four runs with three singles to lead Houlton past Katahdin Valley in a game called after four innings due to the mercy rule.

Dee struck out eight and walked two. Ben Tuttle pitched a scoreless fourth.

Tyler Brown slugged a two-run homer and Garrett Putnam singled twice and knocked in a pair of runs.

Jacob McAvoy singled for Katahdin Valley’s only hit.

At Houlton, Evan Dushane collected two doubles, a single and two RBIs to lead Millinocket by Holbrook.

Cooper Peterson hit three singles for Millinocket while Seth Garvin posted a double, a single and two RBIs. Justin Thompson added an RBI triple.

Levi Williamson paced Holbrook with two singles, a double and an RBI. Reed Kiah singled twice with two RBIs while Nate Smith hit an RBI triple.

Hunter Brasslett led Old Town with a triple, a single and an RBI. Dillon Leland added a double.

Maddie Willis and Jaelen Albert had two singles apiece for Hermon.

At Hermon, Tessa Dinardo hit three singles as Hampden cruised past Bangor in four innings.
