CASTLEWOOD, Va. – Staff Sgt. Samuel J. Ramsey, 39, U.S. Marine Corps, retired, was unexpectedly taken into the Lord’s home Thursday, Jan. 7, 2010, at his father’s residence in Milford. He was born July 17, 1970, in Bangor, a son of Martin and Lorraine (Garceau) Ramsey. He retired from the U.S. Marine Corps after proudly serving for 14 years. He was an avid guitarist and loved all music. His true passion was the Marines and he went above and beyond for his Marine brothers. He is survived by his wife, Kristal Ramsey of Castlewood, Va.; two stepdaughters, Veronica Hall of Castlewood, Va., and Tia Hall of St. Paul; a sister, Laurie Johndro and her husband, Barry, of Orrington; and two nieces, Amy Johndro and Lindsay Johndro of Orrington. He was predeceased by his mother in Dec. 25, 2006, and his father, Dec. 25, 2009. A memorial service will be conducted in Castlewood, Va., at a later date.
