WARREN, Maine — The two prisoners who escaped last weekend from the Bolduc Correctional Facility were caught Friday night in Rhode Island, according to a Maine Department of Corrections official.

Robert Fogg, 28, and Arden Shaw, 36, were arrested Friday night by police in Westerly, R.I., according to an Associated Press report on Sunday.

“Unfortunately, no additional details are available at this time,” said DOC Assistant Commissioner Denise Lord in a press release issued Saturday afternoon.

The two inmates last were seen at the minimum-security Bolduc facility at about 7 p.m. last Saturday. Both men were in prison for burglary and due to be released in 2013, but officials have said that the escape likely will cause more time to be tacked on to their sentences.

Neither was a violent offender, authorities had said.

Knox County Sheriff Donna Dennison said Tuesday that there was a chance that the escape was linked to Saturday’s theft of a pickup truck in Cushing. The two-tone Chevrolet C-15 had been left with its keys inside close to the Bolduc “prison farm,” according to the sheriff.
