DOVER-FOXCROFT, Maine — A public hearing to provide residents an opportunity to learn more about the six warrant articles to be decided next month will be held at 6:30 p.m. Monday, Oct. 19, at the Dover-Foxcroft Municipal Building.
Voters will be asked to enact a land use ordinance and approve amendments to the town’s subdivision ordinance and comprehensive plan.
In addition, action will be taken on two projects for which bonds will be needed.
The town plans to apply for a $708,000 grant from USDA Rural Development to make capital improvements to the wastewater treatment plant and collection system that involve the sewer lines and manholes.
In addition to authorizing selectmen to apply for the grant and accept it if awarded, voters also will take action on borrowing up to $300,000 as the town’s match for the grant.
Voters also will act on a request to borrow up to $100,000 to finance improvements to the fire station. The improvements include the replacement of the concrete floor and base material as outlined in a building evaluation conducted by Civil Engineering Services Inc. of Brewer.
The articles will be decided at a Nov. 3 special town meeting.
