Brewer takes advantage of walks in win

BANGOR, Maine — Brewer’s Junior League all-star team scored eight runs on six hits and took advantage of 11 walks to eliminate Holbrook of Holden 8-5 at Mansfield Stadium Tuesday.

Hermon led Orono-Veazie 10-5 in the fourth inning, but the game was suspended. It will resume today at 7:30 p.m.

Ian Forrest singled twice and knocked in a run to pace Brewer.

Jon Deschaine doubled, singled and drove in a run for Holbrook.

At Brewer, Seth Pearson doubled and singled to knock in two runs and scored two more as Brewer triumphed.

Chris Hudson had two singles and scored a run for Brewer.

Aaron Semested doubled in two runs for Sebasticook.

At Glenburn, Cody Lyon hit two doubles, two singles and scored three runs to help Glenburn eliminate Orono-Veazie.

Connor Farmer hit three singles for Glenburn. Jacob Lavoie doubled and singled.

Josh Palmeter paced Orono-Veazie with a triple and a single. Jake Earl doubled and singled and Seamus McKaig singled twice.

At Hermon, Darius Ntycao and Eric Hoogterp combined to pitch a no-hitter as Hermon eliminated Holbrook of Holden.

Ntycao pitched 5¤ innings and Hoogterp pitched the last two outs. They combined for 10 strikeouts and six walks. Ben Wheeler tripled, singled and drove in two runs to lead Hermon’s offense. Hoogterp had two singles and an RBI.

Justin Gagnon scored the run for Holbrook.

Brewer 8, Houlton 0

At Brewer Monday, Chase Allen pitched a two-hit shutout with seven strikeouts and had two singles with an RBI to help Brewer’s all-stars eliminate Houlton.

Evan Riva hit a two-run single for Brewer.

Kyle Bouchard and Nick Botting each singled for Houlton.
