AUGUSTA, Maine — Maine Democratic Party Chairman John Knutson has been re-elected to another two-year term.
Nearly 100 Democrats representing every county in the state met Sunday in Augusta. They left the party’s state leadership largely intact for the next two years.
Knutson, who is from Brooklin, says Democrats had a massive field campaign in Maine for President Barack Obama and other candidates, but he says it could have been even stronger.
He says 7,500 people worked for the party — but that’s only half the number of people who said they would. He says his goal is to get more people involved over the next two years.
