GUILFORD, Maine — SAD 4 directors voted unanimously Tuesday not to support the school reorganization plan.

SAD 4 and SAD 46, along with Harmony and Willimantic, have worked for months on a reorganization plan. Willimantic selectmen earlier went on record opposing the plan.

SAD 4 directors said the regional planning committee has identified no cost savings. Instead there would be cost shifting caused by property valuation and the number of pupils, they said.

A statement issued by the board said the added costs would be significantly more than the penalty for noncompliance.
