Maine logger killed by falling tree

AUBURN, Maine — Auburn police say a 59-year-old self-employed logger has been killed by a falling tree.

Police say the victim was cutting trees Tuesday when he was struck by a falling tree and killed instantly. The victim’s identity is not being released pending family notification.

The accident is being investigated as a work-place fatality and the Occupational Health and Safety Administration has been notified.
