PRESQUE ISLE – Mildred Hussey Scott, 103, died early Saturday morning, Sept. 10, 2005, at the Presque Isle Nursing Home. She was born Oct. 20, 1901, in Ludlow. the daughter of Benjamin and Vesta (Hall) Hussey. Mildred moved to Presque Isle after her marriage to Frank L. Scott Jr. She was the wife of a potato farmer. They had a farm on the Reach Road for most of their married life. She enjoyed sewing and knitting and was a member of the Neighborhood Sewing Club. Her flower garden, at the farm, was admired by many for its beauty. In the 1960’s, they sold their farm and moved to a new home on Dupont Street. Mildred was predeceased by her husband, Frank in 1993; a daughter, Betty Lou; and a son, Frank L. Scott III. She is survived by three daughters, Dorothy S. Blake of Windham, Conn., Dolores A. Roix and her husband, Robert, Helen L. York and her husband, Alden, all of Presque Isle; six grandchildren, 12 great-grandchildren, 13 great-great-grandchildren, and many friends. Funeral services will be held 2:30 p.m. Tuesday, Sept. 13 at the Duncan-Graves Funeral Home, 30 Church St., Presque Isle, with the Rev. Kenneth Phelps officiating. Relatives and friends may call 1:30 p.m. until time of service at the funeral home. Interment will be at the Johnson Cemetery, Presque Isle. The family invited relatives and friends to a reception at the funeral home immediately following the interment.
