ATHENS – Harry L. Kaherl, 70, died Jan. 26, 2005, at the Veterans Medical Center in Togus. He was born May 10, 1934, in Hallowell, the son of Bill and Madelyn (Caldwell) Kaherl. Harry was a U.S. Army veteran of the Korean War. He was employed for many years as an equipment operator for area paving contractors. Harry liked the outdoors. He especially liked to camp, hunt, and fish. He is survived by his son, and his wife, Gerald and Donna Kaherl of Palmyra; two grandchildren, Don and Erica; a special great-grandson, Tyler; several nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his parents, and two brothers, Clarence and Eugene. At Harry’s request there are no public services.
