ROCKPORT — Midcoast Rec is thrilled to welcome all for a free celebration event from 4 to 7 p.m. on Saturday, Oct. 3.
Midcoast Rec’s annual Community Day is bigger and better than ever. This year we are thrilled to announce the inclusion of Maine Street Kitchen and Darlings Ice Cream food trucks, a bouncy house obstacle course and professional face painting. Returning favorites are the beloved chili contest, photo booth, dunk tank, open skate on the fresh ice, tennis and pickleball games and open play. Additionally there will be crafts, contests, games like corn hole, pingpong and frisbee golf and prizes.
Collaborators and participants include event sponsor Bangor Savings Bank plus Knox County Clinic, Trekkers, STORM Hockey and Tennis for Fun.
This year we have much to celebrate. Our new tennis courts were completed this summer as the culmination of a multi-year capital expansion project. With new spaces to play, there is plenty of fun for the whole family. All invited to this free event!
In the coming year Midcoast Rec begins the work of positioning itself as a recognized public health asset serving Knox County and the entire midcoast region. We are committed to providing free and low-barrier programs for players of all ages to enjoy safe, fun, active play. This year’s Community Day serves as a kick-off for this new 5-year plan.
