Triathlete Sports confirmed Friday that it has purchased the commercial building that was most recently home to Family Dollar.

The property on the corner of State Street and Broadway went on the market in June for nearly $1.4 million.

Listing agent Tricia Largay of Realty of Maine said in a Facebook post that the sale had been finalized.

In a separate post, Triathlete Sports called the purchase “a huge step.”

“Honestly, both exciting and a little intimidating. After more than 20 years on Exchange Street, we’ve simply outgrown our current space,” the post stated.

The 14,630-square-foot building sits on 1.42 acres. Family Dollar put up banners in late April announcing it was closing and had closed by June when the property went on the market.
