A Portland man suffered life-threatening injuries after getting struck by a car on Congress Street on Friday.

At 6:40 p.m. the 65-year-old man was struck by a 23-year-old Portland resident around 1335 Congress St., officials said.

The pedestrian was taken to Maine Medical Center.

No charges have been filed at this time and the names of those involved are not being released, officials said.
