A man was injured in a crash in Macwahoc on Thursday.

Harold Meadow, 77, was southbound on the Military Road at approximately 10:12 a.m. when he lost control of his vehicle, slid on the roadway and struck a guardrail. The vehicle continued into the ditch and struck several trees before coming to a stop, according to Sgt. Josh Haines of Troop F of the Maine State Police.

Meadow, who had to be extricated from his vehicle that was badly damaged in the crash, was taken to Penobscot Valley Hospital in Lincoln, but was not seriously hurt.

No other vehicles were involved in the crash.

Officials believe that road conditions contributed to the circumstances of the crash.
