A Waterboro couple were found dead from an apparent domestic violence murder-suicide in their home Saturday night.
The bodies of Christal and Christopher Denis, both 45, were found just before 8 p.m. inside their New Dam Road home by York County sheriff’s deputies, who had been called to the house by relatives of the couple, said Stephen McCausland, spokesman for the Maine Department of Public Safety.
Christopher Denis shot his wife with a shotgun before turning the gun on himself, McCausland said. Their bodies were found in their living room, he said.
Police were working at the scene into early Sunday morning, collecting evidence and conducting interviews, McCausland said.
Autopsies were scheduled for Sunday at the Maine medical examiner’s office in Augusta.
