A 24-year-old man died Thursday after being hit by a truck with a plow attached to the front, according to the Old Town Police Department.

The 54-year-old man operating the truck turned left from Bennoch Road onto Stillwater Avenue, where he hit the pedestrian. The front of the truck, to which the plow was attached, first hit the 24-year-old, Old Town Deputy Police Chief Lee Miller said.

The pedestrian was declared dead at the scene.

The Penobscot County Sheriff’s Office was also at the scene. The driver and pedestrian’s names will be released later, according to a news release from the Old Town Police Department.
