A Sanford man involved in an alleged January kidnapping that ended as a stabbing will spend three years in prison, York County District Attorney Kathryn Slattery announced Friday.

Cody Boudreau, 23, was one of three people who were accused of leading a 28-year-old victim to an abandoned apartment in Sanford, holding him there and beating him in an attempt to get money.

The victim was allegedly stabbed during his attempt to escape, and was later found laying in a snowbank.

Judge Jeffrey Moskowitz sentenced Boudreau to 10 years in prison, with all but three suspended, as well as three years of probation for aggravated assault for his role in the case, according to Slattery’s office.

Also indicted in the case were Dylan Austin and Shantel Rodriguez.
