Leeman Highway, a section of Route 1 in Bath, remained closed at 3 p.m. Tuesday after a two-vehicle collision that sent three people to hospitals, one with life-threatening injuries.
Bath Police Chief Michael Field said the crash occurred at 1:18 p.m.
Two people were taken to Maine Medical Center in Portland, including one with life-threatening injuries.
Another person was taken to Mid Coast Hospital in Brunswick.
The road remained closed as officers reconstructed the crash.
