YORK, Maine — A U-Haul truck caught fire on the Maine Turnpike. It happened around 2:30 p.m. Saturday in the southbound lanes just south of the York toll booths.

Maine State Police say two people were driving the truck when it caught fire just after they paid the toll. They say one person fell out of the truck. She was taken to the hospital for X-rays. The other person was not injured.

It took firefighters about an hour to put the fire out. The cause is under investigation.
