The noise complaints about Rise Above Fest was down from 124 in May 2014.

BANGOR, Maine — English singer-songwriter Ed Sheeran garnered significantly fewer noise complaints Saturday than the Rise Above Fest at Darling’s Waterfront Pavilion.

Director of Community & Economic Development Tanya Emery reported Tuesday that just 16 noise complaints resulted from the Sheeran concert.

That compared to 86 noise complaints during the all-day Rise Above festival on May 11. Even that number was down compared to the previous year when the Rise Above Fest resulted in 124 noise complaints.

“I think it’s a very reasonable number,” Emery said of the Sheeran concert. “There were over 13,000 folks at the concert who enjoyed it.”
