BANGOR, Maine — Two LaGrange men were arrested on Friday evening after a disturbance at a local gentleman’s club, according to police.

Police were called to Diamonds on Harlow Street shortly after 11:30 p.m., when it was reported a man — 31-year-old Alexander Gardner — had punched a hole in a nightclub wall, according to Bangor police Lt. Paul Edwards.

By the time Officer Keven Haefele arrived, Gardner and another man, Albert Severance, 33, had both left the establishment, according to Edwards.

As Haefele searched for the men, he spotted them walking behind the Penquis building, Edwards said, but the suspects took off across the Kenduskeag Stream.

Gardner and Severance didn’t get far, as Haefele caught up at the footpath on the other side of the stream, the lieutenant said, and got both men into custody.

Severance was charged with violating his probation and criminal mischief, Edwards said, while Gardner is accused of disorderly conduct and criminal mischief.

Severance remains at the Penobscot County Jail while Gardner has since been released on bail.
