WARREN, Maine — A 74-year-old inmate from the Maine State Prison who was hospitalized for an undisclosed illness on Feb. 28 has died, according to the Maine Department of Corrections.
Robert Storer was transported and admitted to Pen Bay Medical Center in Rockport due to ongoing health issues and died Tuesday, according to a press release from the corrections department.
Storer was serving a 15-year sentence which started on April 3, 2007, for gross sexual assault and unlawful sexual contact.
The state medical examiner’s office has been contacted.
Judy Plummer, public affairs coordinator and director of special projects for the corrections department, said it is standard procedure to have the medical examiner look into any death of an inmate. She said she could not discuss the medical issues of a prisoner because of privacy laws.
Judy Garvey, co-coordinator of the Maine Prisoner Advocacy Coalition, said she was not aware of any issue surrounding Storer. She said the only question she would have is what type of care and treatment he received. Garvey said that, through talks with other prisoners and family members, prisoners are not sent out for specialized treatment as often as would be expected.

Karma!
who cares…. justice
One less to feed, cloth and take care of….
But someone will take his place
Ten more in his place tomorrow I am sure.
Sad but true, but at least this one is gone. And another one’s gone and another one’s gone and another one bites the dust….good riddance
People die everyday in Jail, why is this news?
Are you kidding? People do die every day, pedophiles don’t!
This is not only news, this is reason for celebration! We now have one less pedophile to feed and clothe.
The world is instantly a better place.
I guess the he!! it’s news!
He was a pedophile.
Good deal, gone is good!
thanks ed for expanding upon the story.

he got better care than most people.. free to boot and an advocate to make sure…does not pay to obey the law
Why do we need to know that???
Justice….. That is all…
juicestesst
He was about to blow the whistle on the warden’s next real estate deal. He had to go.
they got a whole pod of them down there even worse than him, needs to happen more often
“74-year-old prisoner dies of undisclosed illness” mmm old age maybe..just a guess : l
Its always a time for sadness when someone passes away.. For some reason I’m not feeling it this time.. At 74 years old he has lived a long life.. He died in prison so to speak for admitting to molesting a child.. A child that has to live with the trauma that was done to him for the rest of his life.. I feel no sorrow for the molester but i feel for the molested.. Maybe now the poor kid will have closure knowing that the evil man is dead..
Good
