LINNEUS – James E. “Snowshoe” Palmer Sr., 71, went to be with the Lord Oct. 26, 2006, in Weston. He was born Jan. 28, 1935, in Unity, the son of Ransome and Irma (Harding) Palmer. James was a veteran of the U.S. Army. He was also a member of the Muzzle Club, worked for the U.S. Boundry Commission and worked for 54 years as a truck driver. He was an avid sportsman and a very loving husband, father and grandfather. To Jim, “his family was everything.” He is survived by his adoring, loving wife of 42 years, Linda (Dwyer) Palmer of Linneus; five adoring children, James E. Palmer Jr. and his wife, Carrie, of Linneus, Todd and his wife, Robin Palmer, of Linneus, Ruthie Stewart of Hodgdon, Gae Ann and her husband, Joe Woznica, of Wadeing River, N.Y., and Sherry and her husband, Richard Crommett, of Clinton; grandchildren, who will miss their “Bampy,” Erica, Brooke, Jeremiah, Benjamin, Sammy, Whitney, Samantha, Jamie, Joshua, Rick, Irving, Jeanette, Dana, Carrie and Cassidy; one brother, Jack Palmer and Hope of Linneus; several nieces, nephews, cousins; and his companion, “Nappy.” He was predeceased by his parents; one daughter, Linda; and one sister, Joyce. Friends may call 7-9 p.m. Saturday, Oct. 28, at Bowers Funeral Home, 10 Water St., Houlton, where funeral services will be held 2 p.m. Sunday with the Rev. James Pittman officiating.
