Defending Class D boys state champs No. 5 Greenville hardly appeared to be the underdogs as they went up against No. 4 Rangeley, winning 55-38 in a D South quarterfinal game Saturday afternoon.

Greenville’s season improves to 9-10. Rangeley ends its season at 12-7.

Greenville will move on to play the winner of today’s matchup between No. 1 Forest Hills (18-0) vs. No. 8 Seacoast Christian (3-15). That semifinal match will take place Wednesday, Feb. 20 at 4 p.m.

Greenville ended a 64-year drought in 2018 to take home the Class D state championship title, overcoming Woodland in a tight 47-46 victory.
