A 5-year-old girl died Monday night after being shot at a home in Scarborough, according to multiple media outlets.

The girl has not been publicly identified, and nobody has been charged in relation to the incident at this time, according to local CBS affiliate WGME.

Police responded to the home on Milliken Road at around 7:30 p.m. The home belongs to a relative of the victim, WGME reported.

A Scarborough police official told WGME the girl was transported to Maine Medical Center in Portland, where she later died. The Maine State Police were called to the scene to aid in the investigation.
