Democrat Susan Deschambault is the winner in Maine Senate District 32, besting her Republican opponent, Stephen Martin.
Deschambault took 57 percent of the vote, and Martin took 41 percent. Two percent of the ballots were blank. Biddeford and Kennebunkport carried the day for Deschambault, while Martin was a victor in Alfred, Arundel, Dayton and Lyman.
Overall, Deschambault earned 1,785 votes, while Martin earned 1,299.
Deschambault will fulfill the remaining months of the term that became vacant earlier this year upon the resignation of Democrat David Dutremble.
