WISCASSET, Maine — The Edgecomb woman missing since Friday was found deceased at about 1:50 p.m. Monday, Lt. Michael Murphy of the Lincoln County Sheriff’s Office said.
Lynn Crink, 74, of Edgecomb was found in the water by Wiscasset’s wastewater treatment plant by a couple walking their dog, Murphy said.
Crink has been missing since Friday, when she left her home at about 4:30 p.m. and never returned. She was reported missing by her husband the following day.
Crink’s body was found about 5.3 miles from her home.
The Lincoln County Sheriff’s Office, Maine Warden Service, Maine State Police and Lincoln County Search and Rescue searched for Crink throughout the weekend.
According to Murphy, it would be typical for a body that entered the water in the Sheepscot River in Edgecomb, near Crink’s home, to be carried to the location where her body was discovered in Wiscasset.
Her body is being taken to the state medical examiner’s office in Augusta for autopsy, Murphy said. However, her death is not considered suspicious.
