KITTERY, Maine — Motorists heading from Maine to New Hampshire were encouraged to find an alternate route Friday morning due to a vehicle fire on the Piscataqua River Bridge.
The southbound lanes of the bridge, which carries Interstate 95 across the Maine-New Hampshire border, were shut down Friday morning, the Maine Turnpike Authority reported shortly before 8:30 a.m.
Heavy delays are expected, according to the MTA, so alternate routes are strongly encouraged during the morning commute.
No other details were immediately available.
