Driver in Broadway head-on crash under arrest on OUI charge

BANGOR, Maine — One of the two motorists involved in a head-on collision late Tuesday afternoon on outer Broadway has been arrested on a charge of operating under the influence, a Bangor police official said Tuesday night.

The OUI charge stems from a crash that occurred about 4:45 p.m. on Broadway, in the vicinity of Finson Road intersection and Six Mile Falls Meat Market, according to Bangor police Lt. Bob Bishop.

Both drivers — whose names and ages were not immediately available — were injured, Bishop said, adding that both were transported to Eastern Maine Medical Center.

Bishop said police officers believe the driver who was charged caused the accident to occur.
