AMITY, Maine — Two brothers are facing drug charges after a hunting camp in Aroostook County was raided on Tuesday night, police said.

Kevin Carton, 28, and Micah Carton, 26, of New Limerick, are both charged with manufacturing and trafficking in Schedule W drugs, a Class B felony, Department of Public Safety spokesman Stephen McCausland said.

Maine Drug Enforcement Agency officers responded to the camp in Amity to investigate the state’s 18th suspected methamphetamine lab of the year, an all-time record, McCausland said. The previous mark was last year’s 13.

Tuesday night, police received information about the suspected lab on Eastbrook Road, and when officers arrived, the brothers were inside cooking methamphetamine, McCausland said. Trooper Jared Sylvia, who is familiar with meth labs, aided MDEA officers.

Following the arrests of the brothers, the meth lab was dismantled Wednesday morning and processed for evidence, McCausland said.

The brothers are related to the camp’s owner.
