NEWPORT, Maine — A tractor-trailer driver involved in a tire-related accident that killed a woman in New Hampshire on Wednesday morning was found later in the day in Newport.

The driver of the tractor-trailer has been identified as Alan Condon, 51, of Oakfield, according to a press release from New Hampshire State Police Lt. Nicole Armaganian.

According to police, the accident occurred about 8:10 a.m. on Interstate 93 near the Hooksett, N.H., rest stop. Condon, who was in the northbound lanes hauling a modular home belonging to Crawford Homes of Houlton to Whiting, lost a wheel-tire assembly, which went airborne.

The assembly struck an unmarked New Hampshire State Police cruiser driven by Col. Robert Quinn and then ricocheted into the southbound lanes, where it struck a 2008 Mazda CX-9 driven by Kerry Anderson-Baker, 40, of Concord, N.H. Anderson-Baker was killed on impact.

Condon was found with the assistance of the Maine State Police and witness accounts.

The New Hampshire State Police’s Technical Accident Reconstruction Team will work with the Merrimack County attorney’s office to determine if any criminal charges will be filed, Armaganian said.

Any follow-up information will be released by the Merrimack County attorney’s office, she said.
