HERMON, Maine — A local auto repair shop was damaged by fire on Friday morning.
The blaze, which broke out just after 6 a.m. at the Reynold’s Auto Body on Fuller Road, is being investigated by the state fire marshal’s office, according to Hermon firefighter Grant Hines.
Hines said the fire started in the attic of the building. Crews from Hermon, Levant, Carmel, Hampden and Bangor went to the scene and were able to get it under control quickly.
“With the manpower we had, we were able to get it knocked down pretty quickly and kept it from taking the building,” Hines said.
Nobody was trapped in the building and no firefighters were injured, Hines said.
The building’s roof suffered smoke damage, Hines said.
