BANGOR, Maine — A man from Brockton, Mass., was arrested Friday after he accidentally dropped a bag of cocaine on the floor of Diamonds Gentleman’s Club, Bangor police Sgt. Paul Edwards said Monday.
Lakeem S. McFadden, 29, was in the Harlow Street nightclub at about 10:30 p.m. when an employee saw him drop the drugs, the sergeant said. He was arrested and charged with felony aggravated trafficking in scheduled drugs.
“McFadden was walking to the restroom when he dropped the bag with white substance on the floor,” Edwards said in a statement. “An employee walking right behind him noticed this and took the bag to the office. Management deemed it looked suspicious and called police.”
Shortly after dropping the bag, McFadden noticed his mistake.
“He was missing it ,and he was actually wondering where it was and started questioning staff,” Edwards said. “He didn’t know they had called the police.”
Officer Brandon Vafiades was the first to arrive and started questioning McFadden. Meanwhile, backup Officers John Robinson and Taylor Bagley, who is a member of the department’s Special Enforcement Team, arrived to interview staff and test the substance to see what it was. According to Edwards, Bagley identified the substance as cocaine.
“The report says there was 9.2 grams of it. It was rock cocaine,” Edwards said.
McFadden was arrested and taken to the Penobscot County Jail, where he remained Monday afternoon, a jail official said. If convicted, he could be sentenced to up to 30 years in prison.

Brocton seems to produce a number of fine young men.
Brockton is a cesspool!! Hopefully we will elect Mitt Romney to help rid us of these sorts.
I’m sure it will be a top priority if he’s elected president, that’s why it slipped his mind to clean up this “cesspool” as their Governor.
Hey you with your logic and ability to counter idiotic statements with truth and fact…your kind aint welcome ’round these parts!
You obviously haven’t figured out his act. He reels certain of you in like… uh, Jonas Grumby’s little buddy… It’s OK though, from observing the “serious” responses from so many, none of you are Roy Hinckley either.
When was the last time you heard a president or presidential candidate say the words “drug problem”? Problem? What problem? What used to be an important issue is now not worth mention, yet the situation is probably worse than ever. It is like government, except for law enforcement and courts, have thrown their hands up and surrendered, believing nothing can be gained by facing the issue.
Not sure why my previous post was pulled. I don’t think I violated anything so I’ll try to keep it super clean this time.
Gentlemen club is not a place to find a gentlemen. What you find at a gentlemen s club is typically an over weight, poor complexion, coke bottle wearing man that must pay to see it because he can’t find anyone that would give it up at no cost. Don’t use the bathrooms.
The girls, well, you can imagine what this market is going to command for girls that are willing to disgrace their body mind and soul in such a demeaning way but the men that go there don’t care.
I have never been there and never would but the word is the place has been renovated since ms Cormier had it. Coke and Strip clubs go hand and hand and anyone that doesn’t think so is either in complete denial or totally naive.
Expect to see a lot more of this.
again Brockton connection . wow
REALLY good to see the public and police working together. That’s how this problem will be beat.
Right on!!
a real sharp one there
One witness, possibly. Cameras? Chain of custody for the drugs is questionable. Did the guy confess as in “did anyone pick up my stash?” 9 grams is around 1/3 ounce. Just wondering if this could be/will be prosecuted.
There’s no article, just a picture lol…………is this a new BDN game??
“guess the perp” a new interactive game, exclusive to the BDN.
The people who comment fill in the blanks.
Now that Sexton and “Money” aren’t able to deal, he just picking up the slack. For him, Maine was “Open for business.”
Is it your goal to use the “open for business” tag in every reply you make?
Hahahahahahahaha, I may have only used that once or twice in a comment. Go ahead and find “every reply” that has “Open for business” in it. It’ll probably take you a couple of days. And if you think I’m a liberal, you are dead wrong. Have a nice day! :-)
30 years? I seriously doubt it. Out in months tops.
Your right probable set him up because they don’t want black people checking out white girls stripping.
You can have the ones visiting or working these places OK..
P.S. are you a racist? do you hate white people?
Actually I was poking fun at lots2say. I didn’t do a very good job at being sarcastic :(
If I picked up on your sarcasm, you must’ve done a good job!
It’s not the material, it’s the audience…..
Bangor doesn’t have a strip club. You can find less cloth at the beach.. or a department store mannequin.. Never been there but I have read the bangor code on strip clubs.
The thrilling nights of yesteryear & the Paramount Lounge. Now that was a s t r i p club… (especially amateur night,) the sights, the sounds, the excitement, the, the… uh, nevermind.
Your comment doesn’t even make sense.. Always someone hopping on the race train when someone of another ethnicity gets caught. The guy could be purple and I’m sure there would be an arrest made after the investigation was done based on how much product was collected as evidence.. As far as the investigation they obviously did not just arrest someone seeing how there were multiple witnesses and the site it under surveillance. Appropriate screen name just from now on make sure all of your words aren’t useless.
Your comment doesn’t say anything that was in the article, multiple witnesses surveillance, Is that you Sgt. Paul Edwards??, or are you making up stuff?
you stay classy bangor maine!
how’s things in vegas randall?
peachy!
Yes we get it. Simple folks like you always use this phrase when a non-white screws up in Bangor. Yes you think you’re getting away with something by calling it “diversity”. Its not really that witty.
Yes, I think that most people can “get it”. While it seems OK to call it “diversity” when it is the view of some people who want more folks like this to “integrate” into the community, when the raw truth is shown…suddenly ‘diversity” becomes a bad word.
Why not just move to Brockton and enjoy all the diverse population there you can handle and let Bangor try to enjoy it’s isolation?
Because there are no cameras in strip joints. None at all.
How do you know that? Visit the joint alot. I know quite a few strip joints with cameras
Congratulations you don’t pick up on sarcasm very well
There was a comment that was directed towards you , not sure where it is now, but got removed, i didnt even respond to you. Odd
I’ve run into that 3 times in as many days here. Reply to a person, it ends up in the main thread sandwiched in-between other new posts. The people reply to what was supposed to be your reply…thinking its an actual new post (which its not)…wheeeee.
But yeah I would think they would have cameras on the bathroom doors/in the bathroom area since the toilet is apparently a good place to do ungood things (HAH!)
@Randall Flagg White people commit crimes too. Get over it.
No, this is what happens when a responsible citizen reports a crime. Good job, employee of Diamonds, by the way; I am sure there are plenty of employees at more “respectable” establishments that would have returned the product to the patron. And, please, Mr. Flagg, tell us of this place of yours in which only the lily white live out lives of purity and holiness. I want to be sure to drive around it…
“Cocaine is a helluva drug.” -Rick James-
get it while it’s “hot”
IF convicted, he COULD be sentenced to up to 30 years in prison…..but in reality he will get 30 days, with all but 7 suspended!
The last time Maine courts let loose a druggie from Brockton with a suspended sentence, the druggie ended up coming back up to Maine and [alleged] roasting 3 Mainers to death in a Bangor parking lot.
I am shocked. Cocaine and strip clubs. Together? OMG!
Brockton is staying classy lol producing some winners lately in bangor
