Woman holds up bank in South Portland, escapes with cash

SOUTH PORTLAND, Maine — Police are looking for a woman who held up the TD Bank on Maine Mall road and got away with cash.

The woman entered the bank around 7 p.m. Thursday, implied that she had a weapon and demanded cash, according to South Portland police Sgt. Steve Webster.

No weapon was shown during the robbery, Webster said.

The suspect left the scene in a white SUV that was parked behind Friendly’s restaurant.

The suspect is described as white or hispanic,approximately 20-25 years of age, 5-foot-2’, medium build and dark hair. She was wearing a Gap hooded sweatshirt and New York Yankees cap at the time of the robbery.
