Marie Tysinger, 67, of Waldoboro, was traveling south on Route 1 at about 11 a.m. Friday when her 2010 Honda sport-utility vehicle drifted into the northbound lane and collided head-on with a 2007 Chevy Silverado pickup truck driven by Murray Sparks, 45, of Portland, who had his wife, Joely Sparks, 44, and his mother, Lois Sparks, 70, both of Portland, with him.

Joely Sparks was first taken to Pen Bay Medical Center in Rockport before being transferred to Eastern Maine Medical Center in Bangor. Murray Sparks was treated for his injuries and released from Miles Memorial Hospital.
Route 1 was closed for about three hours while crash reconstructionists from Lincoln County Sheriff’s Department and the Maine State Police investigated the scene. The accident remains under investigation.

So sad that that man lost his mother. Just goes to show we can all be here one minute, gone the next.
There seem to be many more vehicle accidents now than when the roads were snow covered and icy. People always seem a bit more reckless to me when the good weather first appears. Why is that?
You honestly think a 67 year old woman was being reckless because the weather was nice?
Inattention causes vehicles to drift into other lanes. Draw your own conclusion.
Inattention. Texting. Sneezing.Even coughing. Falling asleep momentarily. It is not fair to rush to judgements in this tragic accident.
All of those things you mentioned are preventable
