Man arrested in connection with Bangor Gardens car burglaries

By Nok-Noi Ricker, BDN Staff

BANGOR, Maine — A man with three bags of goods, some stolen, was arrested Friday morning when a resident of the Bangor Gardens-Kenduskeag Gardens area called to say a thief was going through his daughter’s car, Bangor police Sgt. Ed Potter said.

The suspect — identified Friday night as local transient Josh Gray, 31 — was arrested and charged with burglary to a motor vehicle, according to Bangor police Lt. Tom Reagan.

“They’re sorting out the three bags of property,” Potter said late Friday morning.

Six residents in the area reported missing items from their vehicles between 6:40 and 9:30 a.m., and Potter said there may be others.

Officers Eric Tourtellotte and Jason Stuart found the man walking down the street carrying the bags and arrested him after items found inside the bags were linked to those missing from the daughter of the caller.

People who live in the Bangor Gardens and nearby Kenduskeag Gardens area should check their vehicles to see if items are missing, Potter said.

Correction: An earlier version of this story reported the burglaries occurred in the Little City area of Bangor. The burglaries occurred near Bangor Gardens and Kenduskeag Gardens.
