PORTLAND, Maine — OccupyMaine’s tent city in Portland has come down, but the group is still trying to get its message out with a new TV show episode on the movement.
OccupyMaine has finished producing its latest show, which is nearly 30 minutes long and focuses on Occupy after the Lincoln Park encampment came to end earlier this month.
The show is produced at the community access television studio in Portland and can be viewed on the OccupyMaine television show website, occupymetv.org.
OccupyMaine was formed on the heels of the Occupy Wall Street movement in New York to protest income inequality and corporate greed.

Well,,,,,,it’s a start.
Maybe some of them will go to Hollyweird and become stars.
I hate to tell you guys but the rich really dont care if you live in communes and tents!
Thats where they think the 99% belong anyway!
I bet Tyrannical Tarp&Tent would advertise their multinational corporation on occmetv (and then write off the production and broadcast fees ).
..
If the American people wake up and challenge the vast wealth that has perverted our democracy, then this country has a chance of remaining great.
Power corrupts and the rich are more powerful than ever before.
I can’t sleep at night worrying about rich perverts and their corrupting power.
So who pays for the taping, are you using those greedy corporation’s cameras to film this stuff.
What an intelligent post.
At least now they are not monopolizing the parks that tax payers provide, and if anyone wants to see their tired message they can tune in on their own time.
Wasn’t it those evil rich corporations who manufactured their tarps, cell phones, sleeping bags and propane heaters? The OWS folks should stop asking for free government handouts. How about they start giving, instead of receiving?
I think it’s due time to start an “Occupy Fishing” movement. I am a member of fishing’s lower “99%.”
I am an indifferent fisherman, and there’s no way I could ever make it to the professional level. I have never put in the practice time to be the best. I never had the patience, ambition, skills or dedication to “make it” in the sport. I just never felt like working all that hard at it.
However, I feel I should be paid by the top 1% of fishermen for what I do. It isn’t fair that those fishermen who have worked harder, have studied the sport, have better equipment and are more skilled and dedicated should make all that big money in the Bass Pro circuit.
Where’s my share? I’m a victim!!!
The top 1% should pay for my Bass Pro club membership and licenses, buy me new fishing rods, reels, lures, boats, motors, fish finders and clothes and pay me some of their winnings. After all, they can afford it, for they are “The Rich.” The whole system should be changed to accommodate people like me. Let’s occupy a lake and demand that those who are better at what they do pay for us who lack the ambition, willpower and determination to succeed. Whining should get us something, like a picture on the cover of Outdoor Life magazine, along with public sympathy. Maybe a law or two from legislators who want our votes.
I am waiting for “Occupy Bath Tub”. Dealing with the Great Unwashed is WAY overrated!
I went to their site, it’s a good piece of work. In fact, looked at all the postings and each sends a very good message. Sure there are young folks who dress and look differently than perhaps you or I do but, there are many equally middle to elder folk who all share the same message. If corporate greed continues to run rampant in this nation/world, we will see more cases of people loosing their pensions to high salaried/golden parachute types. Banks and Wall Street have been allowed to rule and we have let them by succumbing to the debt of high credit cards, mortgages beyond our ability to pay and, the need to keep up with the Jones, at all cost.
I think Occupy Maine, is pointing out to us what we have been afraid to confront – our own fear of not having it all. The voices of these men and women are fine examples of what is right with America.
I say Hooray Occupy Maine! Thank you for your tenacity and respect for humankind. And frankly, I don’t care if you sleep in tents, have long hair or protest…it is the way of our Nation. The rest of us need to wake up and stand with you for you are our today, tomorrow and future.
” Banks and Wall Street have been allowed to rule and we have let them by succumbing to the debt of high credit cards, mortgages beyond our ability to pay and, the need to keep up with the Jones, at all cost.”
Really? It would appear that everything you stated in your sentence is entirely at the fault of the consumer, not Wall Street.
1. If you can’t afford to have a credit card, then don’t have one. If you feel that you must have one, use it only in emergencies and pay it off monthly.
2. Mortgages beyond your ability to pay? Simple solution; don’t buy a house that you can’t afford. Live within your means.
3. Keeping up with the Jones? For what reason?!? Again, live within your means and don’t spend money you don’t have. It’s really all that simple.
What’s the name of the show? How To Get By Free In Life?
Are they revealing the part when the Occupy Maine movement burned the American flag and what it represents?
LIVE! From Mom’s Basement…..it’s Shantytown Night!
