Two bodies found in Portland apartment, police investigating

PORTLAND, Maine — Police are investigating a report of two dead bodies that were found in an Oxford Street apartment just after noon on Tuesday.

Portland police Lt. Gary Rogers said in an email to the Bangor Daily News that officers arrived on the scene and found the two bodies, one male and one female, in an apartment.

Rogers said a maintenance worker notified police of the deaths, and the office of the chief medical examiner responded to the scene as well.

The medical examiner’s office is scheduled to perform autopsies Wednesday to determine the cause and manner of their deaths.

The case remains under investigation. Anyone with information regarding this case is asked to call the Portland Police Department at 874-8533. To provide information anonymously, cellphone users can “Text a Tip” to 274637 with the keyword “GOTCHA.”
