Pedestrian seriously injured when struck by vehicle in Brewer

By Dawn Gagnon, BDN Staff

BREWER, Maine — A Brewer pedestrian suffered serious head and other injuries Tuesday when he was struck by a vehicle near the intersection of Mullen Way and Wilson Street.

Though police were withholding the pedestrian’s name and age Tuesday evening, Brewer police Capt. Jason Moffitt said the man was taken to Eastern Maine Medical Center in Bangor, where he still was being evaluated about 6:30 p.m.

A section of Wilson Street running from Mullen Way to Highland Avenue was closed to vehicle traffic immediately after the accident, which occurred at 5:14 p.m., Moffitt said.

The street was expected to remain closed until about 8 p.m. to accommodate an accident reconstruction being performed by Brewer police Officer Jeff Gotreau.
