PORTLAND, Maine — Temperatures have hit a record high for the third day in a row in Portland.

The temperature on Monday hit 81 degrees at the Portland International Jetport, tying the old record for the date set back in 1949.

The National Weather Service said Portland’s 85-degree high on Sunday broke the previous record of 79 degrees, set in 1942 and again in 1943.

The temperature reached 81 degrees on Saturday, which tied the record for that date, set in 1947.
