HOLDEN – Dennis H. Coleman, 61, died Thursday, Jan. 6, 2011, at a Bangor health care facility. He was born Sept. 18, 1949, in Ellsworth, son of Herbert and Kathryn (Shaw) Coleman. Dennis grew up in Ellsworth, and was a graduate of Ellsworth High School and Husson College. He was proud of his career as a computer programmer, and enjoyed logic puzzles and growing flowers. Dennis was an avid sports fan and enjoyed cheering for Boston sports teams and University of Maine hockey. He was a member of Grace Bible Church and Cedar Haven Tenants Association. Dennis will always be remembered for his quirky and unique sense of humor. He is survived by his son, David Coleman and his wife, Sarah, of East Taunton, Mass.; brother, Larry Sites and his wife, Melanie, of Bangor; sisters, Julie Sites and her husband, Paul Amoroso, of Holden, and Kathy England and her husband, Jim, of Dover-Foxcroft; sisters-in-law, Donna Smart and her husband, David, and Linda Houston; brother-in-law, Rodney Houston and his wife, Ana; mother-in-law, Irene Houston; special cousins, Jean and Bob; many nieces and nephews. In addition to his parents, Dennis was predeceased by his wife, Roseanne (Houston) Coleman; and father-in-law, David Houston. Relatives and friends are welcome to call 7-9 p.m. Friday, Jan. 7, at Brookings-Smith, Brewer Chapel, 55 South Main St., Brewer. A memorial service will be held 1 p.m. Saturday, Jan. 8, at Grace Bible Church, corner of routes 46 and 1A, Holden, with Pastor Greg Selmon officiating. After the service, relatives and friends are invited to share conversation and refreshments at the church.
