He also owned and operated The Little Red Store in Bernard, from which he sold collectibles and antiques. Paul was past president and an active member of the Mt. Desert Lions Club, serving as its secretary for many years. He also served his community as the director of the Bass Harbor Memorial Library and was a member of the Southwest Harbor Library, Footloose Friends, as well as a member of the Harbor House Bon Appetit Club. Paul served as president of the Maine Educational Media Association and on many committees and other boards in and around his community. He was a very devoted pet owner and was very fond of birds and animals, especially his squirrels.
