CHERRYFIELD – Lois I. Durgin, 71, passed away April 10, 2005, at Down East Community Hospital after a sudden illness. She was born Feb. 25, 1934, in Porter. Lois lived in Cherryfield for many years and in Machias at Marshall Care Center for the last year and a half where the staff have been a real family to her. She is survived by a sister, Elaine Adjutant and husband, Leon, of Ospisee, N.H.; a brother, Reginald Durgin and wife, Goldie, of East Rochester, N.H.; stepmother, Dora Durgin of New Hampshire; and several nieces, nephews, and cousins. She was predeceased by her father, Gilman Durgin; and mother, Helen Tibbetts. A funeral service will be held 1 p.m. Thursday, April 14, 2005, at the Bragdon-Kelley-Campbell Funeral Home, Milbridge, officiated by Pastor Mark Chandler. Burial will follow at Pine Grove Cemetery in Cherryfield.
