New Mt Chase Lodge owners cater to national monument visitors

By Aislinn Sarnacki, BDN Staff

Lindsay and Mike Downing became the owners of Mt. Chase Lodge in February 2016, and that decision was based on their belief that the Katahdin Woods and Waters National Monument would bring more visitors to the region. Located just outside the monument, Mt. Chase Lodge was formerly a traditional hunting camp owned by Lindsay Downing’s parents. The lodge now caters to a more diverse crowd and serves quality homemade meals to lodge guests and those who book dinner by reservation.
