PORTLAND, Maine — People stared at their bloodied faces. Some crossed the street to avoid them as they staggered and moaned down the cobblestone streets of Portland’s Old Port Tuesday afternoon and evening. Some asked what was going on. But they got no coherent answers from the undead as they shuffled between watering holes on their zombie pub crawl.

A group of friends, mostly in the restaurant business, was just blowing off some steam and having fun. Organized by Portlander Jim Roberts, the pub crawl was for no real reason other than to have fun.

They’ve done it before in superhero costumes. They’ve done it as villains. But the zombie option seems to be the most fun. They’re already planning the next one.
