Staceyville Soldier receives Legion of Merit

STACYVILLE, Maine — After 33 years of service to his country, Command Sgt. Maj. Steven Curtis of Stacyville was awarded the Legion of Merit. Curtis was accompanied by his wife, Kelley and son Shea, at a ceremony held at the Armed Forces Reserved Center in Bangor on June 15,.

The Legion of Merit is awarded for extraordinarily meritorious conduct in the course of duty, with outstanding services and achievements. The decoration is issued both to United States military personnel and to military and political figures of foreign governments.
