BLUE HILL, Maine — The Blue Hill Public Library’s fourth annual plant sale will take place from 8 to 11 a.m. on Saturday, May 18, on the Library’s front lawn—rain or shine. There will be almost 1,000 potted perennials from local gardens, soft fruit canes, vegetable and flower seedlings. The Friends of the library will offer and additional sale of coffee and breakfast “goodies,” plus a gardening book sale.
There will also be a silent auction of garden-related items. Featured items include: a gourmet farm-to-table dinner for eight, terra cotta planters, granite bench, kid’s wheelbarrow, fine desserts, a quilt, a month of local eggs, tattoos (to forever show your love of plants), massage (to ease the aches and pains of weeding), and a yard of goat manure — truly something for everyone. Write your garden wish lists and get there early!
All proceeds benefit the general operating fund for the Library. For more information or to volunteer to staff the event or help prepare for it contact the Library at 374-5515.
