Eastern Maine AIDS Network is moving to Summer Street

BANGOR, Maine — Penobscot Community Health Care would like to inform the public that Eastern Maine AIDS Network is moving to 34 Summer St., Bangor, in early February and will open for services at its new location on Feb. 10.

The move will allow EMAN to focus its scarce resources on client services and places them at a convenient location in the middle of Bangor, adjacent to Summer Street Health Center and the Unlimited Solutions Clubhouse.

EMAN works to improve the lives of those impacted by HIV/AIDS by advocating for fair and effective programs and policies, and providing support services, including case management, HIV antibody testing, clean needle exchange, and prevention, education, and outreach.

Established in 1987 as a grass roots response to the needs of people living with and affected by HIV and AIDS, the Eastern Maine AIDS Network  is a not-for-profit agency that provides a variety of services throughout eastern and northern Maine. A primary goal is to afford support to clients who are living with HIV/AIDS through case management, emergency funding, social services and client activities. It also provides extensive community outreach prevention and education, HIV antibody testing to the general public, and needle exchange as part of its harm reduction program. EMAN merged with Penobscot Community Health Care in 2010.
