AUBURN, Maine — The Maine Chapter of Construction Specifications Institute has recognized WBRC Architects Engineers as part of the Cross Insurance Center project management team for its excellence at its annual Maine Chapter Awards Banquet held June 4, in Auburn.
The 2013 Award for Excellence in Construction Project Delivery recognizes the combined innovative efforts of the Cross Insurance Center owner, the City of Bangor, Sink Combs Dethlefs, WBRC Architects Engineers, and Cianbro Corp. in developing the initial project concept, final design and the management of the construction process of the facility.
The Cross Insurance Center, an 8,000-seat arena and trade and convention facility located on Main Street, was to celebrate a soft opening on June 9.
Bill Charland, Maine director of Construction Specifications Institute – Northeast Region, says the collaborative approach of owner, designer and contractor created an exemplary project that deserves nationwide recognition.
“It was this team concept that brought a quality $65 million project to completion,” he says in a press release. “This cooperation from start to finish enabled the group to successfully meet schedules and budgets.”
